First Aunty said that she would add sugar to 50 ml of water. She added a large tablespoon. She kept stirring the water till all the sugar got mixed. She asked us how we could make the sugar dissolve easily. We said we could heat the water. “And what else?” she asked. We made many guesses — like stir it harder, pour the water from one container to another to mix it better and make a machine to stir it. Then Safwan quipped, “We can add more water!” “Yes!” said Aunty. Making the Sugar Solution My Homemade Rock Candy is easy to make and doubles as a fun science experiment for your kiddos. Plus, they’re absolutely delicious and boast bright, beautiful colors.

What are High School Science Fair Projects?
Crystallization can be divided into stages - primary nucleation is the first. It is the growth of a new crystal, which in turn causes secondary nucleation - the final stage (if removal of the crystals is not an issue). Secondary nucleation requires existing crystals to perpetuate crystal growth. In our sugar example, we had obtained such nuclei when the 'excess' sugar had just about crystallized out assisting further crystal formation. Secondary nucleation is the main stage in crystallization for this is what causes the 'mass production' of crystals. How to Make Rock Candy with Kids   Pour 1 cup of sugar into the boiling water, stirring until it dissolves.
