Water cycle project

Water Cycle Activities
In order to understand the weather and why it rains, kids need to know about the water cycle. This simple water cycle demonstration can be done using materials from your kitchen. It not only helps kids understand the basic elements of the water cycle, it also shows why our rain water is drinkable despite the fact that much of our rain water comes from the salty ocean. Water cycle experiment Create your own water cycle below with our free printable water cycle diagram. Find out what happens to the water you add to your bag. Let’s get started!

If you would like some more ideas for sorting and classifying rocks, take a look at these second-grade science stations about physical properties or these fourth-grade science stations about how the Earth has changed over time. Grab a FREE Science Curriculum Roadmap HERE: Here are 3 of my favorite water cycle experiments as well as a craftivity. These science experiments are simple to set up and use common household items. The water cycle wheel craftivity gives students a visual representation of the stages of the water cycle and how they repeat over and over again.

Discover more about the natural world
If you’re on the lookout for a simple, fun kids’ science activity, you’re in the right spot! This water cycle in a bag is a quick prep activity with a BIG payoff – my boys watched the water do its thing for days. WATER CYCLE EXPERIMENT Next, add about 2 inches of water to the bag. The exact amount isn’t important, so there is no need to measure it. Then, add a few drops of blue food coloring to the water. The food coloring makes it easier to see the water move through the water cycle, but it’s not absolutely necessary either.

Plenty of materials can make novel additions to the water cycle model. Make clouds from cotton balls or white balloons. Fashion the sun from clay, and oceans in a small container of salt water. You can also use true-to-life objects. Head outside and grab some sticks, leaves or rocks to put together tiny models of trees or mountains. If you have the equipment on hand, you could also make the entire diagram out of Legos. Classroom water cycle experiment A straightforward water cycle science discovery container to explore earth science! It's certainly amusing to make fizzy blasts and eruptions, yet it is essential to find out about our surroundings in this world.
