Stem enrichment programs

In semester 1 of this Biology course, students will explore the scientific method and foundational chemistry facts that will assist students in the further study of Biology. Cell structure and cellular processes, DNA, photosynthesis, and other cellular activities are covered. Students will also explore the ecosystems and the biodiversity of the earth. In addition, students discuss matter and energy, the carbon cycle, and human impacts on the different ecosystems. STEM Garden Pack With the help of scientist Nick Uhas, David Dobrik managed to pull off the world’s biggest Elephant Toothpaste experiement with almost 200 cubic meters of foam spilling over his backyard.

This is a project-based learning unit about what is found on the Earth's surface. This unit can be used as an introduction to learning about what is on the Earth's surface or as a follow up activity to previous introduction. Students will use their five senses to identify and describe things on the Earth's surface. Students will create a group presentation and individual publication. Stem gardening

I choose to join this plant project at KCC because it brings everything that I want to do for a career all in one, technology and hawaiian culture/ native hawaiian plants. This project helps me bridge the information collected about the plants on campus, native and non-native, and help educate people who come onto campus. This is important because people can learn about the different plants that KCC has to offer and how our hawaiian ancestors used them.
